Portrait Painter, Wanton Adventuress, Contrarian.

A (mostly) visual blog of my art, obsessions and life. I love BBC, fine art and goth footwear. I play the violin and hope someday to raid a town while wearing full viking regalia.

A woman of dubious and questionable memory.

Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work. —Gustave Flaubert

I’m a comic book geek, portraitist, BBC fanatic and a mother.  I also like science, bookish people and sparkly objects.

I’m a painter and an illustrator with a classical inclination. I have a day job to support my art habit but I’m an artist by trade, thought, education and drive. I strive for realism in my work and I love it more than just about anything.

I adore my daughter, my husband and my violin. They keep me grounded so I don’t float off into the aether, as most artists are inclined to do. I also run, lift weights and sweat a lot. It’s my meditation and useful in case of Zombie Apocalypse.

I am obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Who and dusty Victorian things. I like being alone outdoors, building things with my hands and reading spooky books.
